• Aim : Understand and get initiated to each step from semen collection to semen dilution, freezing and packaging, as well as semen analysis and insemination, in equine species
• Duration : 3 days
• Site : at IMV Technologies location, L'Aigle and IFCE (France)
• Audience : DVM’s, Scientists, breeding technicians
• Participants : max. 5 participants
• Pre-requisite : Basic understanding of equine reproduction and prior experience in handling laboratory procedures.

Content

Day 1 - Theoretical explanation and demonstration of :	Day 2 and 3 - Theoretical explanation and practice on :
Advantages of artificial breeding	Semen collection procedures
Semen evaluation by photometry, and CASA* and introduction to flow cytometry	More preparation to AI*
Medium preparation	Ultrasound detection (demonstration only)
Basics in cryobiology	Semen thawing and quality control
Semen dilution, centrifugation, packaging, cooling and/or freezing and storage	Insemination of fresh, chilled, frozen-thawed semen
	Introduction to embryo technologies

Discussion and conclusion.

The content can be customized to address specific needs, with the option to focus more intensively on particular topics of interest.
