IVOS II Ident is an integrated system for animal semen analysis, for both dose production and quality control evaluation with a fluorescent microscope.
1
It allows to analyze a sample in a few seconds in order to find the concentration and the quality of the semen (motility, as well as morphological anomalies). It thus makes it possible to objectively characterize an ejaculate and to determine the volume of media that needs to be added and the number of doses to be produced.
IVOS II™ Ident is customizable to fit different ways of working in AI centers. It can be used for production, quality control and for research.
The software, available in 10 languages, adapts to all species. Fully customizable, it can easily be configured according to your criteria.
The positioning of the slide in the IVOS II™ Ident fluorescence optical system, on an automated stage with adjustable temperature, ensures optimal analysis conditions.
The operator can choose a predefined analysis configuration or create an unlimited number of custom setups. IVOS II Ident thus adapts to different working methods in AI centers and can be used for production, quality control, and research.
Numerous parameters are analyzed instantly and simultaneously. This intuitive software displays real-time results for motility, concentration, kinetics, morphology, and the automated calculations required for semen production.
The reliability of analyses helps optimize production per ejaculate, thereby reducing production costs.
Furthermore, the software’s performance enables users to exclude underperforming males, improving the fertility index of the herd.
IVOS II™ Ident identifies five types of sperm abnormalities:
In addition, the software calculates morphometric values of sperm cells — including length, width, perimeter, and head surface area.
IVOS II™ Fluo allows users to set minimum thresholds for normal, motile, or progressive sperm required to validate an ejaculate.
If the minimum threshold is not reached, an alert is automatically triggered.
Data export is flexible — the operator can select which parameters to export.
Extraction in ASCII format can cover a specific period, animal, or genetic line.
Data can also be exported in real time to integrated production software such as eSMILE, minimizing manual entries and ensuring perfect traceability.
All this information also helps optimize semen production by adjusting male management (nutrition, collection rhythm, and environmental conditions).
