BactiBag featured at the Ninth International Conference on Boar Semen Preservation

12.08.2019

IMV Technologies researchers, represented by Lucie Gavin-Plagne, concluded BactiBag is a suitable aid to reduce the use of antibiotics in swine artificial insemination.

In a poster featured at the IXth International Conference on Boar Semen Preservation, the researchers summarized two studies; one, using semen doses packaged in BactiBag and media with antibiotics to inseminate females; and another, evaluating in vitro sperm quality parameters of semen doses packaged in BactiBag, using media without antibiotics.  In both studies, BactiBag proved itself as a valuable input to improve the results of swine artificial insemination protocols.

IMV Technologies' BactiBag is the only bacteriostatic swine semen packaging available.
