This position is part of the Research and Development unit within IMV Technologies.  IMV Technologies is an innovative SME, established in Normandy, FRANCE, since 1964, and world leader in the field of assisted reproduction technologies (Artificial Insemination and Embryo Transfer).  IMV Technologies develops complete solutions for assisted reproduction including sperm cells and embryo collection devices, medical devices for sperm cells and embryo preservation and implantation, cryobiology equipments, cell culture media for sperm cells and embryo preservation.

Mission for the Biology Research Manager Group


• The field of activity is assisted reproduction (Artificial Insemination and Embryo Transfer) for all animal species and in particular, porcine, bovine, horse and avian.
• To develop new products in the different areas of cell preservation (sperm, embryo, stem cells), sperm cell quality evaluation, and in the area of performance improvement of assisted reproduction technologies.  This activity covers research and development, including identification of new ideas/areas, efficacy studies and gathering data for regulatory purposes when needed.
• To develop control methods for the quality of these newly developed products.
• To generate efficacy data for marketing purposes of new and existing products.  This may include comparative studies with competing products.
• To actively establish research collaboration with public or private entities, locally or internationally.  To be the contact point and project manager for these research collaborations.
• To manage the Biology Research Laboratory for IMV Technologies (2 laboratory technicians).  The lab is also involved in quality control and support activity for the field.
• To generate scientific data necessary for product development or promotional activities, including, experimental design, conducting and monitoring the studies (in-house our with partners); statistical analysis of results and concise and precise reporting of these results to the executive board.
• To publish scientific results in peer reviewed scientific journals.  Number of publications, including journal impact factor, will be an integral part of yearly performance evaluation.
• Training of sales and marketing teams.

Qualifications


• Expertise in Biology (Ph.D. or D.V.M. with very strong laboratory experience).  Training outside France in an English speaking organization (Post-Doc) is strongly recommended;
• Strong background in cell biology and male/sperm cell physiology.
• Experience in cell culture and flow-cytometry
• Experience in in-vitro diagnosis development (Immuno-Fluorescence, ELISA).
• Advanced knowledge in statistics and methodology for biological data analysis and evaluation.
• Experience in project management: ability to manage several projects simultaneously, including planning, budgeting.
• Strong drive to innovate, pragmatic approach to biology problems.
• Desire to work in team, in multicultural environments.
• Autonomy.
• Fluent in 2 languages including English.

• Position based in France (1h30 mn drive to Paris, 1h15mn drive to Caen)
• Contract: Full Time Employment (CDI, French equivalent to tenured contract)
• Available: September 2010
